Salesforce Futureforce Tech Launchpad, powered by CodePath 2022

Thank you a couple of years ago our team started thinking about strategies to continue to build you know a talent pool of candidates and for us to do that we have to think about the workforce planning and think about early talent that will be joining the company we connected with CodePath I think about a year and a half ago we were really inspired by the work that Michael Ellison the CEO of Kodak was doing and truly thinking about diversifying the tech industry through computer science curriculum education with universities we just really aligned with our values here at Salesforce the goal of future Forest truly is to bring in that diverse and qualified pipeline that’s not enough because there are so many incredible computer science students that are underrepresented that are going to universities they don’t have these massive computer science programs but they’re still incredible students and so when we say we’re looking for that qualified candidate that’s why we can’t do this alone and that truly is why we’re partnering with CodePath because we’re now able to reach students that are earlier in their University Journey that may have not received or they may not be getting certain coursework until their junior or senior year so when I made my switch I I took a couple courses at CodePath and from there on I was like this might be something that I’m actually interested in I was able to like challenge myself in ways that like I never thought I could challenge myself like once the first time I actually programmed and saw like the hello world on the screen I was like I did something I have to meet a lot of a lot of other principal Architects which is like such a high position for a software engineer I got to meet eight of them I got so much incredible advice so much incredible experience just being in meetings with them honestly I got to see what the what really what the nitty-gritty looks like at the company for for engineers right this summer we had our most diverse intern class and now this partnership with CodePath where we’re working on developing the next generation of Future Leaders at Salesforce for happened to be for minority background so this is truly you know a match made in heaven I heard about Copa from taking a course last semester the mobile app development course and it really shifted my learning about just the different principles in computer science and different career paths that you have and I think learning about that gave me more opportunities to learn about different things that I can specialize in concentrate in computer science really the key to figuring out diversity is to really think deeply about the outcomes being able to reach across corporations and really push to help find a solution that you know works for that Corporation in terms of their corporate style but also you know helps to address a problem that’s broader than any company these kinds of hard problems are really important to go after and I don’t know that there’s a better way to have the outcome we’re looking for than to have some Bridge across the corporation I mean I see what CodePath is doing I applaud that effort
