I have interned at one company as a Android engineer intern and that’s all because of the knowledge I gained from this amazing organization called CodePath. The problem is students are not getting past technical assessments. The fact that we can partner with CodePath so that students are prepared for technical assessments, no matter what institution they’re coming from, no matter what their background is, that’s exciting.

We care very much about getting our students the most competitive software engineering roles. Changing the way that education is taught, specifically CS education is taught across four-credit, two-year, four-year colleges and universities. Mentorship is one of the most important things I’ve gotten out of this program.

Part of that was learning from Jeremy, too. He would help me with my projects all the time. I would come to him with some ridiculous idea and he would give me suggestions on how to make it.

The CodePath mentorship with Amazon next, I thought it was extremely like cool that they actually they let us like find mentors within Amazon. And so, it was it was a great experience, you know, finding a mentor in Chris, as well. Being successful professionally is all about who you know.

And so, I think programs that kind of work to try to make connections between, you know, like early career talent and the sort of more senior folks, I think are incredibly important. When I think of CodePath, I think that CodePath offers legitimate opportunities and access for students. We want to make sure we are supporting those that are underrepresented in the field.

We have identified tech as being a gateway to having some financial freedom. It’s a huge thing and that’s why I chose to work at CodePath to make that difference. I’m really appreciative of the opportunity because, you know, there’s only so much you can really do by yourself.

What they say, they say if you want to go fast, go by yourself, but if you want to go far, you go with others. Mhm.
