CodePath CEO Michael Ellison: Announcing Claude Corps, a Fully Paid AI-Native Fellowship
Ready to build your tech career?
Accelerate with courses built and taught by senior engineers from the companies you want to work at. Free for CS students and CodePath alumni.
Nine years ago, CodePath made a bet that the ability to build with technology is the most powerful engine for economic mobility in America. Over 40,000 alumni later, that bet is rewriting what an engineering career can look like, and CEO Michael Ellison has an announcement about what comes next.
In this message to the CodePath community, Michael unveils Claude Corps: a new fellowship built with Anthropic for early-career builders who want to do work that actually matters. Fully paid. No minimum education required.
Watch to hear who it is for, why CodePath is building it now, and the one ask Michael has for every alum.
Ready to build with AI in a place that matters?
I want to speak directly to the CodePath community and to anyone out there who’s early in their career trying to figure out what comes next. Nine years ago, my co-founders Nathan and I started CodePath because we believed in something simple. That millions of young people from backgrounds like ours have what it takes to do the most coveted jobs in tech.
Not just get hired, actually do the most consequential technical work in the country. For me, that belief is personal. Technology literally changed the trajectory of my life.
We made the bet that it could change yours, too. Nine years later, more than 50,000 of you have proven that bet right. You’ve come from over a thousand colleges and universities and you’ve gone on to work at over 4,000 companies.
Your first-year salaries have averaged $20,000 above the typical computer science graduate. That’s not luck. That’s architecture.
Today, I’m announcing the next layer of that architecture. CodePath is teaming up with Anthropic to launch the world’s most ambitious AI fellowship. We’re calling it Claude Core.
Claude Core is a 12-month, full-time, fully paid, early-career fellowship designed to drive transformational change in the social sector while harnessing and developing AI-native skills. This program is designed and run by CodePath and Anthropic. You’ll work on improving services that millions of Americans rely on from food banks to public health centers to legal aid and more.
Claude Core is built for early-career builders, people with under two years of full-time work experience. There is no minimum education requirement. If you’re in your first year of work or just entering the job market, this was designed with you in mind.
Recent grads from community colleges, four-year universities, and yes, even high school are all eligible. You don’t need to be a software engineer. You do need to be comfortable with becoming technical and AI-fluent, hungry to learn fast, and driven to work on problems that actually affect people’s lives.
If that’s you, if you’re ready to build with AI in a place that actually matters, apply now at CodePath.org. If that’s not you, if you’ve already got 2 years under your belt or you’re further along, I’m asking you to do something equally important. Think about someone in your life who could be a part of this fellowship.
A younger colleague, a friend who is still figuring out their next move. Someone from your campus, your cohort, your community. Send them this video.
Share the link. Make the introduction. 50,000 Of you proved CodePath’s vision.
Now, help us find the next wave. This is the next chapter. Let’s build it together.
